A brief meeting was held of instructors
in Information Systems to discuss the proposed CAN descriptors for
Introduction to Programming, C++, C#, JAVA, and VB.NET. It was suggested
that the JAVA descriptor should be modified to include the following
object oriented programming concepts to parallel the descriptor
for VB.NET -
- Object-Oriented Programming
- Inheritance
- Base Classes and Derived Classes
- Constructors and Destructors
It was also suggested that the VB.NET
descriptor should be modified to delete the following topics:
- Database Processing with ADO.NET
- SQL
- Dataset
- DataGrid
- Web-Based Applications with ASP .NET
- Server-side controls
